Coaching Policy

Thank you for your interest in my coaching services! Below you will see a list of all the general coaching policies I have for clients as well as the rates for the services that I offer. However, before looking these over, please read the following as the experience I provide is a little different than one you might receive working with a trainer at your typical big box gym (i.e. Planet Fitness, Vent Fitness, YMCA, etc).

 

In most cases like that, you show up for your training session, the trainer runs you through a workout they have designed for you, and then rinse and repeat at the next session. But in between sessions, you usually don’t have contact with them and you are pretty much left out on your own. You are paying for the time spent to do the training sessions and that is about it. An average training session is a half hour or maybe an hour. You see your trainer one, two, maybe three times a week, so a few hours at most in total. The exercise sessions are certainly important, but I would argue that what clients do with their time spent outside of the session is just as important if not more so in accomplishing the goals they want to achieve. 


For example, if you only see your trainer once per week, what about workouts when you aren’t with your trainer? What about nutritional coaching and lifestyle habit coaching that supports these workouts? Or what about communication and accountability in between sessions, helping you to stay on track, ultimately helping you achieve your goals more efficiently?


The main service that I offer is a blend of online and in-person, face-to-face coaching and fills in these gaps that often come with the traditional face-to-face only model of personal training. You as the client get all the benefits of both worlds. We will work together doing in-person face-to-face training sessions at a regularity and time that suits you just as you normally would when hiring a personal trainer. We will use these sessions to ensure your exercise execution (form/technique) is on point, to teach you exactly how hard to push yourself on every exercise and make sure that you understand the goal of each workout and how to execute it properly. This will keep you clear of any potential injuries and ensure that you are always getting the most out of every training session. 


The rest of the week or time you are not with me, you will have other scheduled, individualized workouts ready for you to do just as any online trainer would give you. These are built to fit around your lifestyle and your schedule and save you the time, hassle and cost of having to go to the gym to meet with me at a specific time multiple times per week. You can train at any gym (even at home if you have the necessary equipment), whenever it suits you. Have a hectic schedule for one month and can’t make it to the gym as much? No worries, we simply adjust your plan and keep progressing towards your goals. Also, if you are doing one of the workouts on your own and you want to make sure you are doing an exercise correctly, you can submit a video for me to review and I will be happy to critique and give you feedback.


In addition to having all your workouts laid out for you, you also will receive individualized nutrition and lifestyle habit coaching based on your current skill level, needs, etc. that complements the training programs I have written for you. Training, nutrition, and our lifestyle habits (sleep, managing stress, etc. ) go hand-in-hand. If we have everything working together in sync, we will get the most optimal results possible and achieve our goals much faster.

 

Finally, you have the flexibility to allow you to customize your training package to fit your needs, availability and budget as things change over time. Are you a complete beginner and feel like you need a lot of in-person instruction in the beginning as most often do? Schedule as many sessions as you need. As time goes on, and you get more experience you may feel like you don’t need to see me in person as much. Great! Maybe then you only do a session a week or even a couple of times a month. Do you already have plenty of experience, feel comfortable in a gym environment, and don’t need to see me in-person much if at all (i.e just online coaching)? That is fine too. What about that wedding or big event that is coming up that you want to look your best at and you want to really scale up the amount of in-person sessions for a brief period of time? Easy!
 

The main takeaway here is that you get much more access to me than you would as just a face-to-face client, a much more comprehensive, well-rounded coaching experience that will keep you steadily on track towards your goals, and one that is flexible to fit your needs at any given point in time. You get training programs, exercise, nutrition, habit coaching, accountability, and support all week long as you need it, not just for the few hours a week we are together in a face-to-face environment as you would with a typical training experience. This means we can work together on every single aspect of getting you results and seeing you accomplish your goals! 

Services, Rates & Fees

“Try Before You Buy” 

Selecting a personal trainer and/or a nutrition coach is a big deal. This is someone you are entrusting with your health, well-being, fitness, safety, etc. and there are many out there on the market to choose from. Additionally, achieving long-term, lasting results requires a long-term commitment from both coach and client to one another and it can be quite the investment from a financial perspective. Understandably then, it’s very important that you connect with your coach, that you feel like they understand and are listening to you, that you feel completely comfortable with them and enjoy their style and method(s) of coaching. Otherwise, you won’t achieve the results you want and feel like you didn’t get your money's worth.

I never want a client to feel this way. I want you to feel completely comfortable with your decision to work with me, so with all new clients, the first week is just a trial. Included is: 

  • Initial Consultation & Assessments

  • App Tutorial 

  • Nutrition & Lifestyle Habit Coaching

  • Workout Program***

  • 1 Week Pass to FitnessPro gym***

  • 1-2 In-Person Sessions***(pending scheduling)

  • 1st Weekly Check-In

When we get to the end of the first week of coaching, it is very simple. If you enjoy it, like the direction that things are headed in, and feel like I am a great fit for you as your coach, then that will count as your first week of your first month of coaching. Payment for any prior sessions from the past week, the monthly fee, and any future mutually agreed upon upcoming scheduled sessions will be due at this time. On the other hand, if you hate it, and think “This guy is terrible. I just wasted a week of my time!”, you do not owe me anything! 

Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching (Online) (No Training): 

$150/month

 

Details: 

  • Individualized nutrition & lifestyle habit coaching based on the clients goals and experience level

  • Ongoing support and communication throughout each week via text or e-mail

  • Weekly written and Biweekly Video (Zoom - 15-20 min) check-ins

  • Access to Android/Apple phone app with food diary, habit tracking, and more to help keep the client on track. 

 

Who this is best for: 

“I exercise pretty consistently and I’m a generally active person. I feel like nutrition and building better lifestyle habits that support my goals is the biggest limiting factor for me in getting the results I want.”

Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching, Training Programming (Online):

$200/month

+ In-Person Personal Training: 

$70/session (~45 min - 1 hr 15 min)

Details: 

  • Individualized weekly workout programs that are designed around the client's schedule, lifestyle, experience level

  • In-person personal training sessions held at a mutually agreeable time as frequently as needed

  • Individualized nutrition, lifestyle habit coaching and education that complements the programmed workouts

  • Ongoing support & communication throughout each week via text or e-mail.

  • Weekly written and Biweekly Video (Zoom - 15-20 min) check-ins

  • Execution/form critique and education through client submitted videos. 

  • Access to Android/Apple phone app with workouts, exercise videos, food diary, habit tracking, schedules, and more to help keep the client on track. 

Who this is best for: 

“I feel like I need support and help all around from nutrition and lifestyle habits to exercise programming and in-person instruction in order to achieve the results I want.”

OR

“I feel like I could use some help and improve in all areas: training, nutrition, and building better lifestyle habits. However, I am someone who has prior experience and is comfortable training in a gym with various exercises and various equipment from machines to free weights. I am very self-motivated and do not feel like I need a lot of in- person instruction. Just give me an exercise program, some explanations for how to do things correctly, and nutrition & lifestyle coaching that supports it and I feel confident that I can achieve the results I want.” 

Payment for all services is due in advance. Acceptable forms of payment include: cash, check, credit/debit card, or PayPal.

Cancellations & Make-ups

In the event that a cancellation is necessary, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. A failure to give such notice will result in the client forfeiting that session as well as the opportunity for a make-up session, except in cases of illness, emergency, or some other qualifying reason at the sole discretion of the trainer/coach.

Clients will not be issued a refund or credit for sessions they cancel or miss. If unable to attend, it is the client’s responsibility to schedule a make-up session by contacting the trainer/coach.

Make-up sessions are not guaranteed, are subject to the trainer/coach’s availability, and will be scheduled on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. In addition, make-up session credits expire 60 days from the date of the canceled/missed session.

In the event that the trainer/coach has to cancel a session/check-in, it will be rescheduled to another day and time as agreed upon by the trainer/coach and client.

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand the terms of my coaching policy. I think you will find its format to be comparable to the policies provided by other extracurricular activities. Most of all, please understand that training and coaching clients about nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits is a job for me, not just a hobby I do on the side. My time is just as valuable as yours. I ask you to please respect this fact.
